It’s a discussion topic on many a girl's night in - “If you could choose any era to have lived in, which would it be?”
For me, it’s the 50’s; from which the indelible image of Marilyn Monroe smiling was born - her skirt blowing in a blast from a subway vent shot during the filming of The Seven Year Itch. It became one of the most powerful images of the era.
Confident, strong and sexy! ...... And what woman doesn’t want to be all of those things?
Interestingly, here is a list from Good Housekeeping of 125 Women Who Changed Our World. Many of whom were influential female figures of the 1950s.
